 Tally is a popular accounting software developed by Tally Solutions Pvt. Ltd. It is widely used for accounting, financial management, inventory management, and taxation purposes. As of my knowledge cutoff in September 2021, here are some of the major versions of Tally:


1. **Tally 4.5**: This was one of the early versions of Tally released in the 1990s. It offered basic accounting features and was primarily used for simple bookkeeping tasks.


2. **Tally 5.4**: Released in the late 1990s, Tally 5.4 introduced several improvements and additional functionalities to cater to the evolving needs of businesses.


3. **Tally 6.3**: This version brought significant enhancements to Tally's capabilities, including support for Value Added Tax (VAT) and various other statutory requirements.

It was introduced in 2009 and is a complete ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) solution that integrates various business functions. 7. **TallyPrime**: TallyPrime is the latest version of Tally, introduced in 2020. It is designed with a more modern and intuitive user interface, making it easier for users to navigate and work efficiently. TallyPrime retains all the core functionalities of Tally ERP 9 but offers a more contemporary user experience.


Each version of Tally introduced new features, improvements, and statutory updates to adapt to changing business needs and regulatory requirements. It's worth noting that Tally continues to evolve, and newer versions may have been released after my knowledge cutoff date. 3. **Tally.ERP 9**:

   - Tally.ERP 9 is a comprehensive business management software introduced by Tally Solutions.

   - It supports accounting, finance, inventory, sales, purchase, payroll, and statutory compliance, making it suitable for small to medium-sized businesses.
